A Name for Baby Number Two

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!!! I kind of can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve already! That might have to do with the fact that it’s 80 degrees outside and there’s not a snowflake in sight. (I’m obviously still bitter about adjusting to the climate change.) But tomorrow is going to be the best Christmas yet :) Natalie is just at the age where opening presents is fun and she actually understands that it’s enjoyable to rip off the wrapping paper and see what’s inside the pretty package. Yep, it’s going to be a good day :)

In other news, a few weeks ago we found out the gender of baby number two!! I didn’t go all out and have a big family reveal party like we did for Natalie, partially because we live in a different state from our families now, and partially because, let’s be real, I wasn’t feeling up to it. But we did do a little something special instead!

With Natalie, we found out right away as they did the ultrasound. This time, even though it KILLED me a little bit, we turned our heads and had them put the revealing ultrasound picture in an envelope. We then went to a Carter’s, picked out one girl outfit and one boy outfit, and proceeded to ask the check out ladies if they would open the envelope and wrap up the correct gender outfit for us to take home. Needless to say, they were pretty excited about it! We stood in the back of the store while they did it, and I could hear the squeals and “Awww!” as they opened up the picture. Which killed me a little bit more. Once the outfits were safely out of sight, we paid for the one wrapped in the box and headed home. THEN…. We waited some more. Haha.

We waited until both of our parents were available to FaceTime that evening, and set up our phones so that they could be a part of the reveal. Once everyone was connected, I tried to start out with a little bit of small talk about the appointment and whatnot, but clearly at this point I was dying to know, soooo I cut it short and we opened the box! This is the outfit that came out (and my large 23.5 week belly…)

We are beyond excited!!!!! A part of me wondered if this one was a boy since this pregnancy has been quite different from Natalie’s, but because I had convinced myself last time it was a boy and I was clearly wrong, I was trying not to read too much into any inklings that I had and simply be surprised. Although this time I was right ;)

We are thrilled to announce that this little bambino’s name is

Jackson Felix Uribe

We went with family names for him, and I am especially excited to continue the Felix Uribe name. It has been passed down in Jake’s family for quite a few generations! Natalie likes to give him kisses and hugs, and knows to point at my stomach when we ask her where baby Jackson is, but I’m pretty sure she’ll be in for a surprise when he actually makes his debut in April and we come home with a real baby. Haha. And I absolutely cannot wait to meet him :)
