In 8th grade, they held hands. Because they were dating. And when you date in 8th grade, that’s what you do. You hold hands. There might have even been a stolen kiss in the back of a school bus one sunny summer day. Their first kiss. And I would bet it was better than whatever field trip they were embarking on.
Soon after, though, Emily decided they were better off friends. Andrew disagreed, but if friendship was all he could have, he still wanted it. All through high school, they remained friends. Great friends. The kind of friend that that will drop everything in an instant if you need them, that can make you laugh until you cry, that will bring you chicken noodle soup when you’re sick. Because that’s what you do when you’re friends. You bring each other soup. And Andrew never gave up hope that they could be something more.
Until the end of their freshman college year, that is. After years of pursuing Emily, Andrew decided it was finally time to let her go. He explained that they needed to stop talking, so that his heart could heal. Emily agreed, but it was painful. Much more painful than she had anticipated. In fact, it was too painful. In that separation, she realized that Andrew was the one person she couldn’t live without. They dated again, holding hands and all. And in his own sweet way, Andrew proposed, so that they would never be separated ever again… Because that’s what you do when you’re in love. You spend rest of your lives together.
Emily and Andrew, I seriously could not be happier for the two of you!!! You are amazing people individually, but together, you are even better. If that’s possible. But somehow it is. Thank you for allowing me into your lives. I’m better because of the two of you : )
We started off in this amazing little church Emily found.
The light was perrrrfect.
Let’s be real. Emily, you are FIERCE!They could not be more perfect for each other!
Roar.
I lurrrve the way Andrew looks at her. He just adores his fiance : )
You guys will have pretty babies! Just sayin ; )
We headed into the cold to fine some fun stops on Main Street in Goshen.
And we found an old bookstore!
Andrew, you might not like getting your picture taken, but you are definitely photogenic!
Lurrrve these!
We headed into a little coffee shop to warm up.
They laugh a lot. And it’s contagious : )
We headed out to one last spot before we lost all light. Emily had a vision for some pictures in a snow covered field. And fortunately, Indiana is full of them!
Swoon.
Gorgeous people.
I’ll end on this one…
Congrats again you guys!!
You’re a STAR!!
Wouldn’t be anywhere without you, Scott :)
This is probably one of my favorite sessions of yours, HANDS DOWN.
You captured them perfectly and beautifully.

Beautiful pictures, great scenery…love you two! :)
AHH! These are just GORGEOUS! :) Love love love
Firstly, what a beautiful story of their love. You really have a way with words, and this couple has the cutest story :). Secondly – I am seriously so impressed with your images. There’s something quirky about them that I really like. The composition of them, the feel of them, the way you use light, different locations – I really love it. Plus this couple is sooo good looking!! Keep up the amazing work!
LOVE the new blog look! I also love the quilt shots in the snow. AWESOME!!!
