When it comes to being laid back and simply enjoying life, these two have it down! Natasha and Simon are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever worked with, full of nothing but laughter and love for each other. And it’s impossible not to laugh with them! I can honestly hear their laughter coming from these photos. One thing you can’t hear from these photos, though, is Simon’s British accent. And that’s kind of a shame, because it’s awesome. (Although I’m pretty sure I made a fool of myself and quite possibly offended anyone from Great Britain with my horrible attempt at it.) Also, can I talk about their hair for a second?! I told them they are my “luscious locks” couple. Their kids are going to have amazing hair. Am I right?? Yeah, I’m right. Anyhow, enjoy some of my faves of this gorgeous engagement session!! Natasha and Simon, thank you for being so relaxed and easy-going that day! I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. And I’m so ridiculously excited for your wedding this fall!!! XO
Lilian stood in her bedroom. The soft morning sunlight spilled through the window as her girls helped her make the finishing touches before the big day. Ever so carefully slipping into the dress, fastening the jewelry, putting on the shoes, tying the sash. Carefully, so that everything would be perfect today.
Not that Noah would care if things were imperfect. In fact, he had proven just the opposite when they were very first getting to know each other. Lilian brought her dog Hops over to his house, and, much to Lilian’s horror, Hops proceeded to go to the bathroom in the middle of Noah’s living room floor. But Noah simply laughed and cleaned up it without blinking an eye.
It’s those imperfect moments that make life beautiful, though. Because life, and love for that matter, are rarely perfect by definition. Things are messy, like dog poo in the house. Things are tough, like being long distance to finish school. Things are stressful and exciting, like buying a house together. It’s the laughing together at the awkward moments and the sweet reunions after being apart and the total devotion to each other through it all… That’s the stuff that Lilian and Noah’s relationship is made of.
So she carefully finished getting ready that day. The day that they would pledge their love in front of family and friends. The day they would kiss and everyone would dance and toast to their love all evening. They day the became Mr. and Mrs….
And it was perfect.
Married: Lilian + Noah
What a wonderful wedding this was! I loved the sweet and thoughtful simplicity of the entire day. Plus there were DOGS!!! Lilian is a veterinarian, and she and Noah both have a love for dogs, so they brought Hops and their newest addition Macey, plus a few other pups were hanging around as well! For a fellow dog lover like myself, I of course thought this was so so great. Lilian and Noah, thank you SO much for having me along to document your beautiful wedding!! It was an honor and I absolutely loved every moment of it. May you guys always feel the love you felt for each other on this day, and then some. XO

This Memorial Day feels a little different to me. I mean, I’ve always appreciated this day. A day many people enjoy as a day off from work, a day to get together with family and friends, a day grill some burgers and eat sweet corn and play games, and most importantly a day to remember those who have served and are serving this country. But somehow, now that I’m raising a child in this world, today feels even more special.
Because I am eternally grateful that Natalie gets to grow up in a country where freedom is plentiful and sometimes even taken for granted. I’m so thankful that we have the right to bring her up in a Christian household and not be scared of persecution or judgement. That we don’t have to live in fear of tomorrow, or worry about bombs that might go off in the night. And this wouldn’t be possible without the men and women who are working to keep us safe.
To the soldiers who are currently serving, we deeply thank you. To the families who are missing loved ones today, know that you and they are in our prayers and have our sincere gratitude. And to those who have given their lives serving, you will never be forgotten for the incredible sacrifice you made.
May you all have a wonderful day with lots of yummy BBQ, enjoy some quality family and friend time, and take a moment to thank the men and women who make this day what it is!
In loving memory of my cousin, Marine Cpl. Johnathan Benson, who gave his life while serving in Iraq in 2006.

As soon as these two walked into the coffee shop that Sunday we all met, I knew we were going to be friends. You know what? I take that back, it was even before then. As soon as I got Amy’s first email I was pretty much smitten!! She’s kind, she’s witty, and she’s just one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. Then there’s Kelly. He’s quite awesome and hilarious himself. He had both of us laughing throughout their entire engagement session! And together? They are simply perfect for each other. But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself in their pictures :) Real quick before you do that, though, here’s another reason why I love these guys. On the way to their session I stopped at Starbucks, but after I had finished my drink I realized I had no gum… I was figuring out a way to apologize for my horrendous coffee breath when they pulled up. I sheepishly explained what happened, and Amy just started laughing. Turns out, they had done the EXACT SAME THING. And then I died laughing myself. Gotta love some coffee breath ;) Amy and Kelly, thank you for SUCH a fun evening, and for putting up with my random outbursts about the light!! Haha. I’m so incredibly excited for your wedding, and for this next chapter in your lives together!! XO
Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope you’re all ready for an absolutely beautiful engagement session. The weather threatened us almost the whole time, but Brit and Cole weren’t afraid of a little wind! (Or maybe a LOT of wind. Ha.) They were so happy simply being together in front of my camera, though, that it wouldn’t have mattered if it rained or not. These two are the type of couple that make me so excited about my job, so blessed to be able to capture love with my lens. You better believe I’m beyond thrilled about photographing their wedding this fall :) So enjoy some photos of this adorable, University of Utah loving couple! (Seriously, their basement is totally decorated in Utes decor. And it is quite awesome I might add!!) Brit and Cole, I might be showing up at your door to watch a Utes game next season! I kid ;) Really though, thanks for being so wonderful! I couldn’t be more excited for you guys :) And hopefully we got a few shots that will be a good addition to your basement ;) Bring on October!!!
