Red Cliff Ranch Wedding: Ashlee + Adam

There are some people in this world who simply shine with happiness. People who don’t take life too seriously and who choose to find joy in the little things. Ashlee and Adam are such people. The kind of people who want to laugh and make silly faces during pictures. The kind of people who almost accidentally kiss too soon during their ceremony because they’re so in love and excited to be getting married. The kind of people who center their wedding around family and close friends, and just being together.

The wedding took place on a warm and golden September afternoon. In the midst of the aspens and in front of the red rock, they became husband and wife. Then, below the twinkling lights and amongst the vibrant yellow, orange, and blue flowers, everyone dined and danced in celebration. And what a celebration it was! Family and friends had come from near and far to be a part of the merriment, to toast the newlyweds. When the night ended, every heart was full and not a face left without a smile, because all the guests knew they had witnessed something special, something true…

Because they know Ashlee and Adam are the kind of people who last forever.

Ashlee and Adam, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to capture your wedding! The fact that you trusted me so much you were willing to have an 8 months pregnant photographer is truly an honor. You guys made me feel so welcome and such a part of the day!! The two of you are the kind of people who make me so blessed to have this job, the reason why I love weddings :) I hope that these pictures will always help you cherish the beautiful day you had, and the beautiful love that you share!! Park City Family Session: The Kimbles

Meet the Kimbles!! Or if you’ve followed my blog for some period of time, you probably remember seeing this rad family :) How could you forget those blue eyed, blonde-haired boys?! I’ve been photographing the Kimbles for quite a few years now, and every time it just gets more fun. Crew is one of the sweetest and most intelligent little fellows I know, and Ford is proving to be just as awesome! (He and Natalie might have already started flirting ;) Haha.) And Mark and Lauren are just wonderful people, and wonderful parents. I always love spending time with the Kimbles!! We took these back in the fall when I was about 36 weeks pregnant, and they were gracious enough to not laugh at me as a waddled around taking pictures… Ha. But I loved them so much I just had to share a some now, better late than never! Enjoy a few favorites of this sweet family :)

Happy Birthday Jake!

This morning before work I made you blueberry muffins like I always do on your birthday. It’s one of my favorite things, seeing you come into the kitchen so excited that I made you muffins, even though you know I’m going to. And as you buttered your first one, you mentioned that we’d been celebrating your birthday together since you turned 17. That’s 10 of your birthdays we’ve now shared. Which is a lot. Soon we’ll be getting to the point where you’ve spent more of your birthdays with me than you did without me. To the point where we’ve been together for more than half our lives. Which makes me very happy.

When you said that, though, it also dawned on me how lucky I am. How blessed I’ve been to celebrate with you these last 10 years. Not everyone meets the love of their life in high school. Not everyone gets to marry their best friend after growing up together. Not everyone can say that their spouse was their first kiss, and will always be their only kiss. But I get to say that. Yeah, how lucky am I?

Although I’m not sure who’s luckier, me or Natalie… Because I’m pretty sure she has the best dad in the whole world.

We love you so much Roo. Here’s to another year of your life, and all the amazing things you will do. I’m proud to call you my husband, and proud that you are Natalie’s dad. And I hope that this is your best birthday yet! Forever and always.

Park City Maternity Session: Suzi + Ryan

I’ve known this beautiful couple for quite some time now, and when I found out they were expecting I could not have been more thrilled! Suzi is a super talented lady who does everything from singing to baking dabbling in photography herself, and Ryan is such a strong and devoted husband, I can only imagine what wonderful parents they will make! When we talked about what they wanted for this shoot, Suzi said a little bit of winter wonderland as well as a few clean, inside shots. I think we were able to do just that! Enjoy a few from their gorgeous shoot. And congratulations again Ryan and Suzi!!! It was an honor to capture this amazing time in your lives. While I love capturing the glow of any mama-to-be, there is always something extra special about doing it for friend :) I am so excited to meet your precious baby girl!

Happy New Years!

This year has been the best of my life. Sure, there have been some ups and downs. We bought our first home. I had a painfully crippling first trimester. My brother got engaged. Frisky passed away. I had an amazing year photographing beautiful weddings. And of course, Natalie turned our family of two into a family of three. I did a lot of growing this year (mentally, emotionally, and physically… haha). I hope to learn from the mistakes I made. I’m so thankful for all the good I’ve been blessed with. And, if it’s possible, I’m determined to make 2014 an even better year :)

I got two New Year’s Eve kisses this year.

Like I said, best. year. ever.

I hope that all of you had an incredible 2013, that everyone stayed safe last night and had a fabulous time celebrating, and finally that 2014 will exceed your expectations :) Happy New Year!
