Wedding Wednesday: Private Home Venues

EDIT 2/24/16: As this post is now a few years old, Jessica Stack no longer works for Park City Rental Properties. If you are interested in renting a home for your wedding you can contact Park City Rental Properties directly and hopefully they can help you out! I apologize that I do not have any further information as I am a wedding photographer and not directly connected with rental properties. However, if you’re in need of some lovely photos to document your wedding day, I’m you’re girl ;) Get in touch with me via the “Email Me” link above!

For today’s Wedding Wednesday we’re going to take a look at an alternative venue option: private homes! Allow me to introduce you to Jessica Stack of Park City Rental Properties. Jessica works for a company that rents beautiful homes nestled in the stunning mountains here in Park City, and she has also been a part of some amazing weddings at those houses! Whether you live in Utah and are looking for a unique and intimate venue, or if you’re planning a destination in Park City and in need of the perfect place for your private mountain wedding, renting a home could just be a perfect solution. So without further adieu, here’s what Jessica has to say about private homes for venues:

**********

If you have ever been up to Park City then you know it is a naturally beautiful place. In the summer months the surrounding mountains are as green as can be, wildflowers flourish, streams run deep, and wild life is all around. In the fall months the hills come alive with color, the air is crisp and clean, the town is quiet making it easy to enjoy all to yourself. These are two of my favorite seasons in Park City and are wonderful times of the year for an outdoor wedding in the mountains.

Working for Park City Rental Properties I have seen my fair share of gorgeous and intimate weddings take place at some of our exquisite homes. Take the wedding at our Canyons Mansion this summer in The Colony – rustic accents with an overall chic décor offered the perfect feel for this private home. Or the wedding at our Deer Crest Mansion overlooking the Jordanelle Reservoir at dusk with the twinkle of lights overhead and glow of votive candles. Both of these events gave me an inside look at how a private home can be the perfect wedding and reception venue.

There are many pros that come along with having a wedding at a private home. The first one being bedrooms. In just one place you can have 6 or 7 bedrooms for family to use as lodging, a large master bedroom with en suite bathroom for the bridal party to prepare for the big day, and a beautiful place for the lovely couple to spend their first night as man and wife. Paying for your venue as well as a few rooms in one is a great way to help you as well as your visiting family save a little money.

Another way you are saving money overall is having your ceremony and reception in one place. Many of our homes have large outdoor areas with beautiful views and flat ground for seating for your guests. Cocktail hour can take place on the large wrap around deck while guest listen to music played on the homes built in stereo system. Inside you will often find large living areas that can be cleared out and reset with elegant tables for dinner and still have room for the dance floor. Think of the money that can be saved by having one venue instead of two!

Last but not least another wonderful perk to having your wedding at a private home is the food. We use wonderful, world renowned, private chefs to cater these special days and have always found our guests to end up with 100% satisfaction. Enjoy the freedom to be able to personalize your menu from scratch and not just having to settle with a restaurant or banquet halls existing options.

After seeing countless weddings throughout my many years working in property management in Park City, I have surely found that intimate, private home weddings are some of the loveliest weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. Plus with our guest services team here to help you with every step along the way, you won’t need a wedding planner! Let us at Park City Rental Properties show you the perfect way to spend your perfect day.

Hello! I thought it was crazy to think about using someone’s backyard as my wedding venue, until I saw this site! I’m looking for a beautiful, scenic, backyard to use sometime in August or September of this year. Our guest list is tentative but we’re guesstimating around 80 people.

Hi,
I’m just wondering about these park city rentals.
Everything I have called says that they don’t allow weddings???
Thanks

Park City Proposal: Cheryl + Jeff

When Jeff asked Jake and I if we would help him and be a part of his plan to propose to my cousin Cheryl, I was MORE than happy to oblige!! Cheryl moved out to Park City a little over a year ago, and it’s been so fun having her in the same place, and becoming closer over family dinners and shopping dates. And when she and Jeff started dating last fall, I had a feeling he was more than just a boyfriend… it was obvious pretty early on that these two were falling fast in love! And it as apparent that it would only be a matter of time before he popped the question ;)

Jeff’s plan was to take one of their favorite hikes up to a the top of a mountain in Park City, and have a journal waiting there. But not just any journal, it was a journal that Cheryl’s mom, my aunt Barb, had been writing in to Cheryl since she was a baby. In the last entry she wrote, Barb told Cheryl she was done writing in it, that it now belonged to she and Jeff and the memories they would make. And Jeff then wrote the next entry, asking Cheryl to be his wife… Yeah, talk about a tear jerker proposal!! And I got to catch all of it on camera :) Enjoy this surprise Valentine’s engagement!!

This is so cute! Where is this hike?

Kelly - February 20, 2013 - 2:51 pm

This is so fun! I love the picture where he shows her that you’re hiding in the trees. :)

Sandy - February 21, 2013 - 12:10 pm

Oh my goodness… absolutely gorgeous pics!! We’re so happy and proud! Love you both, mom and Mark.

Carissa,

Thank you, so much, for helping make Jeff & Cheryl’s day so special! Excellent introduction and awesome pics!!

Since we haven’t had time to talk about the “actual” engagement, these photos tell it all. Fate led you here Cheryl to find your beloved. I’m so excited for you both. I still remember the first time you told me about Jeff on our drive up to Park City and how you lit up!

Music Monday

Today marks the beginning of my birthweek!

Oh what? It’s birthDAY, not birthWEEK? Pssh. Birthweek is much more fun ;) Plus it means you get 7 days of eating the biggest piece of cake and no one can judge you, instead of just one. So yeah. I’ll stick to having a birthweek, thankyouverymuch.

And here’s a little Meiko number that’s been playing on my iTunes this month! Although I don’t know why she’s making meatballs in the video. But I wish I was cool enough to sit on my counter and play guitar while I waited for something delicious to come out of the oven. Then again, that would require me to actually cook something. Maybe I’ll just continue to watch the video and salivate instead…

Happy Monday!

Valentine’s Day 2013

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day! Mine was pretty darn good. It involved blueberry muffins and fresh strawberries (gluten free muffins for me, extra-gluten muffins for Jake, as he likes to joke), a beautiful and classic bouquet of roses (which gets me every time, even though I kinda know they’re coming), and Hallmark cards (that cost way to much, but still bring me ridiculous amounts of happiness).

It also involved a snowy hike, some super sneaky hiding, and a guy getting down on one knee to ask the girl he loves a certain question…

My cousin got engaged, and I got to photograph the surprise!!! I am sooo happy for them, and I can’t WAIT to share more of the adorable proposal next week :)

For anyone else out there donning some new bling, congratulations!!! And happy Friday everyone :)

Bali Part 3: Elephant Safari Park and Tourist Stops

The last portion of the trip we did a little bit of shopping and tourist exploring, but the most amazing part was when we went to an elephant safari, and I got to ride an elephant. Yep, I think I need to say that again. I got to ride an elephant. I still can’t believe it happened. Elephants are amazing, beautiful creatures, and I definitely got to check off an item on my bucket list with that experience!! Enjoy the last few personal photos from my incredible trip to Bali :)

Whitney - February 13, 2013 - 1:42 pm

I just have to tell you that I’ve loved all of your photos from your Bali trip. They are all so beautiful!

Monico - February 14, 2013 - 2:17 am

Amazing pictures! I enjoyed every one of them. It’s always nice to see people taking pictures of ‘ordinary’ Balinese things because those are the things that make the island so special.
We would love our website visitors to see them so we will be posting it on our Bali travel blog http://www.bali-travel-life.com/Bali-travel-blog.html.
