You may remember Quincy from his family’s mini session last fall. Well, this little cutie pie just turned one. And yes, I still want to gobble him up. Like pie. Or cake. You know, birthday cake. Because it’s his birthday. (Bad joke.) Anyway. I had such a great time on this shoot and I think Quincy did too, at least for most of it ; ) Thank you, Eric and Macy, for allowing me to capture this part of your son’s life! I can’t wait to see how much he grows this next year : )
The shoot didn’t start exactly as we had hoped. He was only happy for about .5 seconds…
No, he was not thrilled.
Fortunately, mom stepped in and saved the day!
Love. This.
A sippy cup and dad are all Quincy needs : )
Macy brought such cute options for Quincy to wear, so a quick outfit change and we were back at it.
Just look at those baby blues!
He quickly got bored with the chair, so Eric brought him to the window for some entertainment.
And this picture right here? Makes me die. Of laughter. I’m pretty sure this is his “Get that camera out of my face!” look.
Quincy makes the best faces.
Haha.
Now for my favorite part of the shoot. CAKE.
He was a little unsure of it at first…
And disaster struck. He decided he didn’t like it.
That is, until mom started feeding him.
Because really, what’s not to love about cake?
Then he decided it wasn’t so bad after all.
He even offered to help clean up : )
Happy Birthday baby Quincy!
And a big thank you to Justin Hackworth for lending us his studio space!!
I LOVE THIS! I’m doing a 1 year old sesion in March hopefully with the cake and everything. She’s a doll and full of personality so I’m sure it will be fun.
Was wondering what lens did you use for this shoot?
Man, Quincy is such a handsome little man and you did such a great job at capturing his day! This is probably my favorite 1 year baby session.
These are so FUN. I love the shot that has just the foot with cake on it an the cake on the ground. Also, the color is perfect in these. Well done.
@Alicia Aww thanks! Yes, kids are so fun : ) I used my 24-70mm f/2.8L. He was too fast for me to use my 50mm lol. Good luck with your shoot!
@Justin Wow. Thank you SO much! That really means a lot coming from you…
This ALMOST makes me what to have a kid. Almost.
